FIRM AWARDS

Design Associates Architects, Inc. celebrated our 15^th anniversary by winning the Best Industrial Site Award for the design of the Jasper Engines Corporate Headquarters Office/Warehouse Building in Peachtree City, Georgia.

The 28,600 sf facility consisted of an office building and large warehouse/distribution center. Additional information and photographs are provided in the recently completed projects section below

PROJECTS IN THE DESIGN PHASE


Community Christian School Educational Building Stockbridge, Georgia Project consists of a 45,000 sf, 3-story Educational Building, with large auditorium seating for 350 students, commercial kitchen, locker and shower rooms, restrooms, and classrooms on the second and third floor levels. In addition, a new drop off canopy has been planned for the Educational Building. Exterior materials used for the current expansion include brick veneer, stone window surrounds, and stone cap flashings to match the original building construction.	Bentley Assisted Living at Northminster Jefferson, Georgia Design Associates Architects has been hired as the Architect of Record to complete the design and constructiondocuments ona 19,600 sf two-story addition plus an Activities Building located at an existing Assisted Living Facility.

RECENTLY COMPLETED PROJECTS

J.P. Carr Gymnasium Building - Conyers, Georgia

This was a SPLOST project for Rockdale County Government. The project scope included minor site work plus a new addition on the front side of the building which contains new men’s and women’s restrooms and a new addition at the rear of the building. This addition a the rear of the building is for a storage room and handicapped restroom on the gym floor level of the building. The building was retro-fitted with new electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems. A new standing seam metal roof will be installed over the gym area of the building. Remaining roof areas will receive a new built up roof system.

Rockdale County Senior Citizens Center - Conyers, Georgia - 5,100 sf Single Story Addition

The Senior Services Center consisted of an addition to the existing building located in Conyers, Georgia. The project scope included major site work plus a new addition of 4,958 sf and renovations to an existing 8,218 sf building. The construction of the new addition consisted of wood framing, which matched the original building. The new addition included a large multi-purpose room, private office; break room, recreation room, meeting room, handicapped toilets and minor renovation to the existing building.

Interior Renovation to Alpha School for Rockdale County Board of Education - Conyers, Georgia

Project consists of renovating three 50-year old buildings for the Rockdale County Alpha School. Buildings were originally used for educational purposes but were converted into office space for the BOE. One of the buildings had been abandoned for many years.

Overall size of the project is 21,260 square feet.

Greater Fair Hill Baptist Church - Fellowship Hall Building - Atlanta, Georgia

DAA was commissioned to design a new 22,600 square foot, two-story Family Life Center for GFH Baptist Church. The lower level contains classrooms for children and adults. The upper level of the building includes a large fellowship/worshipcenter space, stage, commercial kitchen and office area. Restrooms are provided on both levels of the building.

Interior Renovation of Rockdale County Courthouse - Third Floor Level - Conyers, Georgia

DAA was commissioned to renovate the third floor public corridor area, State Court Courtroom area, State Court Office Area and Civil Court Customer Service area. The total area of the third floor consists of 8,000 square feet.

First Baptist Church - Barnesville, Georgia

DAA was commissioned to design a new 18,000 sf two-story Children's Educational Building. The building contains typical classrooms for children ranging in age from infants through twelve year olds. A unique program requirement of this project included indoor and outdoor playground areas, which are located on the south side of the building.

East Metro Internal Medicine Office Building - Conyers, Georgia

East Metro Internal Medicine office building is designed for multiple Oncologists treating patients with cancer. The facility is laid out to have one common entrance lobby that would allow patients to enter the office or treatment area from a common point. The building includes a spacious two story lobby area with glass block partition, multiple treatment rooms, exam rooms, triage, accounting office, break room, x-ray room, and doctor’s offices.

Mansfield Baptist Church - Mansfield, Georgia

Design Associates Architects, Inc. was hired as the Architect of Record to complete the design and master planning for a 20,000 sf – Phase I building located on a 16-acre site located in Mansfield, Georgia. Phase I will consist of a children’s wing, administration area, adult classrooms, kitchen and sanctuary seating 290 persons.

Rockdale County Courthouse Public Corridor Renovation - Conyers, Georgia

Project included the renovation of the first and second level - public corridors of a 35 year old Courthouse facility. New porcelain pavers, judges wainscot and a vinyl wall covering were installed on the first floor level. Carpet, judges wainscot and vinyl wall coverings were installed on the second floor level. New signage was installed on both floor levels.

Tri Starr Investigations, Inc.
Office Building
Conyers, Georgia

The Tri-Star Office Building is a two story 9,600 sq. ft. Class ‘A’ office building. The exterior of the building employs large expanses of glass. The focal point to the building is a large two-story entry lobby with a monumental stair ascending to an open walkway on the second level. The first floor level contains classrooms, offices, and open office area, break room and restrooms. The second floor level contains corporate offices, open office areas, computer room, and restrooms.

Gold’s Gym
McDonough, Georgia

Design Assoicates Architects was hired to design a 53,300 sf two story recreational facility for a Gold’s Gym Franchise. The facility contains about 8,064 sf of leasable space with the remaining 45,236 sf of recreational space for Gold’s Gym. The gym contains a spacious customer service area, large two story exercise area with walking track above, (3) racquetball courts, (2) exercise rooms, children’s play area, office area, restrooms, locker rooms, saunas, and indoor pool. The second floor contains an exercise room and walking track. Areas have been provided for viewing the large exercise room and three racquetball courts from the second floor level of the building.

Episcopal Church of the Nativity
Fayetteville, Georgia

DAA was commissioned to provide architectural and engineering services for a 4,200 sf classroom building addition, which includes a connecting canopy to the original multi-purpose building. Our services included the master plan update of 7.6-acre site that included a new 10,000 sf Sanctuary Building and additional parking. The new classroom building contains (5) classrooms, nursery, multi purpose room, restrooms, janitor’s closet and mechanical room.

Jasper Engines, Inc.
Office Building & Warehouse Facility
Peachtree City, Georgia

Project consisted of designing a new office/warehouse building for Jasper Engines, Inc.

The new structure contains an office component of 10,500 sq. ft. and a warehouse area of 18,126 sq. ft. The office area contains the phone call center for Jasper Engines Corporate and serves as a back up facility for the Corporate Headquarters.

The single story structure was designed to be a low profile structure to fit into the industrial park of Peachtree City. The exterior materials of the office included brick veneer, low-e glass. A standing seam metal roof was used to accent the office area.

Peachtree City Church of God
Educational Building
Sharpsburg, Georgia

Consist of a 30,000+ square foot two story Educational Building Addition that connects to the existing building housing a Sanctuary and educational wing. The new Educational Building contains classrooms and restrooms on both levels. Other areas of the new building include children and youth rooms, commercial kitchen, resource materials room, visitor’s lounge and the connecting foyer.

A key feature of the new addition is the two story-connecting foyer. This area connects the existing one story structure with the new two story educational building. A new skylight was installed over the majority of the space. The ceiling height in the connecting foyer is approximately 21 feet at the bottom of the skylight and helps to expand the verticality of the space.

Community Bible Church
Educational Building
Stockbridge, Georgia

The new Educational Building is a three story – 25,654 square foot structure. The facility contains an entry lobby next to a covered drop off area for entering the building.

Classrooms, restrooms, and janitor closets are located on all levels of the new building. The first floor area contains an Administrative Office area, which is strategically located at the front lobby to provide security for the building.

Rockdale County Probate Court Renovation
Conyers, Georgia

The newly renovated Probate Court offices consisted of reconfiguring an existing space for four employees including the Probate Judge. A modular furniture system was used to provide a total of six workspaces, new transaction counter, restroom and storage room. The existing vault was doubled in size and the existing Spacesaver shelving system was relocated in this room.

Rockdale County Administration Building - Conyers, Georgia

Design Associates Architects, Inc. was commissioned to provide programming, furniture inventory, and full architectural and engineering services for the renovation of the old First Baptist Church in Old Towne Conyers, Georgia. The building occupies over 40,000 square feet and currently houses Water Resources Department (Bill Payment and Permitting), Public Services & Engineering, Environmental Health, and Finance Department.

Rockdale County Water Resources Building - Conyers, Georgia

The new 10,592 square foot office warehouse building and 5,000 square foot open shed building are located at the Quigg Branch Treatment Plant in north Rockdale County. The proposed facility will contain office area for staff, training room, warehouse area for parts storage, pumper truck storage area, foreman's office area, dispatch room, and telemetry room.

Directory Link Advertising, Inc. - Conyers, Georgia

Design Associates was commissioned to complete the build out of an existing condominium space. The space consisted of 1,885 square feet, which will be used by a Yellow Pages Advertising Company. This office space provided an opportunity for interior design and space planning services. The central core/reference area of Directory Link Advertising contains a raised ceiling with clear stories on two sides.

Abbey Hospice Facility
Social Circle, Georgia

Design Associates Architects was asked to design a 14,700 sf two story Hospice Facility in Social Circle, Georgia. Due to the facility’s location to a residential community, the structure has appearance of a large home. The first floor area contains eleven private rooms, one semi-private room, offices, dining room, warming kitchen, offices, nursing station, break room, rooms, and restrooms. The second floor area is devoted to offices, break room, and restrooms.
